#Poundsign# were a Bay Area four piece, who at various times consisted of Alicia Vanden Heuvel (Magic Trick and The Aislers Set), Becky Barron (Dressy Bessy), Jaime Knight and band founders Ravi and Stephen Vesecky (Mahogany and most recently, the brilliant Strega).
They were truly wonderful for just over half a decade leading up to 2000. Seemingly able to move effortlessly between Galaxie 500 inflections and the perfect Sarah Record vibes of wistful bands like the Field Mice you never quite knew what you were going to get from their next release.
One thing that was almost guaranteed was that there releases were never too far away from the sweetest of indie-pop / C86 jangle-pop and the following 10 tracks are, in my humble opinion, the best of their jangliest !
