Video Premiere: I Close my Eyes by Jetstream Pony (2019) (Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten)

After 20 years of marriage I still love my wife dearly. However, it is a complete opposites attract type thing and she merely tolerates my musical / football obsessions with barely feigned interest.

Me: Guess what (with unconcealed exitement)

Wife: What?

Me:  Shaun Charman just messaged me on Facebook !!!

Wife: That’s nice (not even looking up from her phone and choosing the wrong obsession) what position does he play? Will you make me a coffee?

Me: (bravely walking all the way down the corridor and muttering…) yes you F’kin heathen.

Anyway we know who Shaun Charman is. After playing in all all manner of notable bands, he is currently 25% of Jetstream Pony who produce 100% brilliant fuzz-pop, fronted by Beth Arzy. owner of indie-pop’s most ‘1000% indie pop voice’.

Since forming in 2017 they have released several singles (including several brilliant covers) and the ridiculously sublime Self Destruct Reality EP, to huge amounts of critical acclaim and ladels of barely concealed gushing fanboy  praise from yours truly.

This is probably the reason why they bestowed upon me the honour of releasing the video premiere of their latest Close My Eyes single (see below) which is due out on 7″ vinyl on the Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten label on 03.12.19.

If you like their latest dosage of aural opiate (and of course you will!) then why not  try and get along to see them on their mini tour with Shaun’s ex-band The Wedding Present (dates below)…who are another band my ‘heathen wife’ has never heard of!

Tues 3rd Dec 2019: Northampton Roadmender supporting The Wedding Present

Weds 4th Dec 2019: Cambridge Junction supporting The Wedding Present

Thurs 5th Dec: Salisbury Arts Centre supporting The Wedding Present

Finally if you are reading this immediately upon our posting, why not tune in to Melita Denning on BBC Music Introducing: The South who gives the track it’s first radio airplay here:
