Tigerblind is someone from somewhere whose social media accounts do not seem to be in any hurry to reveal more than is absolutely necessary about the man behind this superb album.
Thankfully, his music is more revealing, as the opening double salvo of Crashed Ur Car and Take The Money marry a The Cats Miaow-style jangly indie-pop to a Tullycraft sense of ‘driven twee’ and a Guided By Voices fuzz that is thankfully just beginning to usurp all things Sarah Records as the increasingly prominent sound among the better bedroom-pop acts.
The fuzz never really subsides; however, it does become decidedly less prominent in tracks best represented by Fall For No Reason, Everything Around Me Just Unravels , Make It Long, and Not Quite Swallow Me, as swirling psyche-pop and genuine jangle-pop riffs are wound between the seams of a more traditional indie-folk foundation that moves as close to Big Thief-style languid as indie folk might ever dare.
Tigerblind has been releasing since 2019 on Bandcamp, and much of his back catalogue has tended to be something of a ‘quirk fest’ juxtaposed with genuine moments of revelation. It’s All Gonna Happen To You turns that particular template on its head to offer genuine consistency and an album that deserves a physical release.
