Leeds based indie songsmith Jacob Andrews and this superb Building Roads single out Dance To The Radio, crafts hazy, laidback yet wistful musings under the alias Big Warm Bed. Having toured the globe as part of Far Caspian’s backing band, Big Warm Bed navigates themes universal themes of friendship and loss through a tasteful retro-rock lens akin to Kevin Morby, Willie J Healy, Daniel Feinberg and Nik Brinkman…adapted from promo submission.
Danish singer songwriter Jacob Faurholt’s music captures the essence of slowcore with indie folk and dream pop intention, weaving introspective lyrics with atmospheric melodies. With haunting vocals and intricate jangly guitar work, his compositions evoke a sense of introspection and emotional depth. Augmented with touchpoints akin to Daniel Johnston this superb Grievance single feels like it may form a body work that will receive cult indie-pop status in 20 years time!
Marrying the dreamy jangly indie-pop of The La’s to the vocal strength and femininity of modern acts such as Poppongene, Sales and Keeley, this glorious Running Wild single is the last to be released from the forthcoming Myself To You album that Portland’s Sunbathe is releasing on vinyl via Time Release Records on 14 March 2025.
This Ich Will Wie Du Sein single from Disso!ver’s forthcoming Die völlige Abwesenheit von Punk album that is out 23 May 2025 the Cologne based act channels the melodic wall of guitars and fuzz-rock spirit of notable acts such as The Wedding Present, Dinosaur Jr and Superchunk.

Ford Chastain began playing guitar at the age of eight in Norman, Oklahoma. Since then, he’s been weaving chords into songs, playing in local bands, and recording music. At 16, he joined the psychedelic rock band Stardeath And White Dwarfs, touring across the United States and Canada alongside bands such as Tame Impala and The Flaming Lips. Since 2016, he has shifted his focus towards his solo project, where he unveils home-recorded indie rock/dreampop songs with smooth, laid-back guitar riffs and mellow vocals as heard in this superb Pages single that is taken from his Reverie album that was released on Start-Track on 21 Feb 2025….adapted from promo submission.

I’m always going to get behind a Drew Danburry release, and his latest single under the Icarus Phoenix moniker has him revisiting softened indie days of old. There are moments when his voice recalls the works of Ben Gibbard or even Jason Lytle, taking on this stretched syllabic melody. Guitars and ambient notes follow suit, stretching the scenery behind Drew’s voice, lifting it up with subtle textures that rise through the speakers. It’s really interesting when it’s juxtaposed with the acoustic demo, which is also attached to the release, as you get to hear the way the song’s initial stages unfold into this rich pop tapestry…Poor Sad Indie Everything is out now on Telos Tapes, read full review at Austin Town Hall

“Nice To Meet You” offers listeners a reflection on time, loss, and the intricate relationships that shape our lives. Salar Rajabnik (Darker Lighter) describes the song as a wistful love anthem while noting that it invites various interpretations, ranging from fleeting encounters to profound introspections on the human condition. The track’s sonic landscape pays homage to his musical influences, drawing from the likes of The Cure and Prince, blending elements that highlight his authentic sound…from the promo submission

Steeped in vivid sonic textures, Falling is an ethereal journey inspired by a dream so powerful that the melody and lyrics poured out of Harkness in a mere 20 minutes. “It’s about more than just falling in love—it’s about dissolving into the world around you, becoming one with it,” he explains. With his signature blend of intricate arrangements and raw human emotion, Harkness once again proves why he’s one of the most compelling artists on the scene today…from the promo submission.
Marrying the beautiful jangly dream-pop vibe of Hater to the sultry, vocal introspection of the Mazzy Starr aesthetic, this In Spring track from Roller Derby’s new When The Night Comes album helps cement the Hamburg based duo’s growing reputation as being among the finest purveyors of jangly beauty.

This superb Little Fire single by Lizzie Maylie and her Biz solo recording project (out of Rosewood Records) augments a languid jangly slacker-pop with the sort of indie folk chanteuse epic vibe of an act like Alela Diane.
New York based S.Karma and this Don’t Leave Tonight single blends a more commercial radio friendly indie-pop with the sort of tinny, chiming jangly riffs that are so reminiscent of the early Worldless Wonder era Real Numbers aesthetic as he offers a sound that is so gloriously celebratory that it strides with immediate purpose into pop’s more earworm territories.

Rising Exeter trio Soot Sprite are set to release their debut album, Wield Your Hope Like A Weapon, on May 16th via Specialist Subject (FRESH, Jeff Rosenstock, Doe, Muncie Girls). Since the release of their debut single in 2018, Soot Sprite has grown from a one-woman lo-fi bedroom pop project to a fully-fledged touring alt-indie shoegaze outfit. Their debut album sees Elise Cook (lead vocals/guitar), Sean Mariner (bass/backing vocals), and Sam Cother (drums/backing vocals) fully embrace the dynamic highs and intimate lows that define their sound.
Sonically, Wield Your Hope Like A Weapon takes influence from many alt-indie greats, creating a sound that blends shimmering melodies with raw, visceral energy. “When I started Soot Sprite I was hooked on Clean by Soccer Mommy and Hovvdy’s Cranberry but with this record I was listening to a lot of Sweet Pill’s catalogue, Ovlov & Wednesday,” explains Cook. Written over a span of four years – some tracks taking shape just weeks before recording – the album was captured in September 2024 at The Bookhouse in London, with the help of former lead guitarist Abi Crisp and production by Tom Hill….adapted from the promo submission.

Battering the loud/soft dynamic through various levels of Palehound-style sweet and sour, this Kowtow! single by Electric Pets reveals the most powerful female fronted vat of melancholy that you might ever experience within the indie rock / jangle rock genres.

Agora Sci-Fi is the recording moniker of New York’s Nathania Rubin and this Portals single is the first to be released from her forthcoming Finding It Hard to Explain Something So Obvious EP that will be out in the summer of this year. Likely to appeal to the fans of the jangly dream-pop of Hater, Roller Derby and Holy Now.

The Lincoln post-punk/indie upstarts have already made an impression since their recent inception in 2023, fast becoming renowned for lyrical prowess, catchy hooks and the fractious riffs that earmark them as the British version of Devo ! National Hero is a glorious post-punk assault on the senses !

‘Swallowed By The Ground is an awe-inspiring rocketship of soaring space rock, replete with nimble chiming guitars, underpinned by nagging basslines and cycling drums, leading the charge is an unmissable vocal from frontman Kameron Jolliffe, introspective lyrics uncover a relationship falling apart, exploding into an unforgettable chorus, combining elements of the epic gaze sound of early Verve or My Vitriol combing with echoes of the sound of bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, Sister Envy are carving their own distinct place in our hearts…from the promo submission.
Morning Tea is from the Peach album that was released by The Blusterfields on 07 March 2025.
“If you are fond of gusting, thundering, swaggering (and other “bluster” synonyms) power pop and neo-Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert rock, then you are, whether you realize it yet, quite taken with The Blusterfields. The band’s new Peach album plays out like the mix CD I’d fashion to serve as the killer soundtrack for my next Class of 1979 high school reunion if I were a lot cooler and even remotely psychedelic. In other words, file Peach and The Blusterfields in the vicinity of Free, Figgs, and Fanclub comma Teenage. Like the shooting star celebrated in the album-opening “Aren’t You Glad,” this five-piece is the polar opposite of “a waste of flesh and oxygen.” — Rick Cornell, WHUP, No Depression, Amplifier, and Independent Weekly

As early members of the Frog Fan Club, we’re contractually obligated to share any and all future Frog pieces. Today, the bands releases 1000 Variations of the Same Song, though I’m not entirely convinced these are all the same song. But, as it’s release day, let’s jam on one of the many great songs, “Top of the Pops Var. I.” When I first heard the song, it was the guitars that sucked me right into the tune, as the repetitive grind was reminiscent of something you’d find on the earliest Pinback records; it was a nice little musical treat, especially when juxtaposed with the high octave notes that hit on the vocal side of the pond…read full review at Austin Town Hall
