Album review – 16 Again by Country Mile Records (2023) (Country Mile Records)

DotdashalbumBorder

After seven previous albums on the The Beautiful Music label, including the Proto Retro album of 2018 that was afforded all manner of critical acclaim by micro-blogs and glossy zines in equal measure, Washington D.C. trio Dot Dash have finally crossed the pond to join the Welsh Country Mile Records label and release a vinyl LP that is likely to be much coveted by their legions of fans.
Being the forbearers of the modern power-pop meets pop-punk movement that has recently spawned great acts such as 2nd Grade, Smug Brothers, and Colored Lights, this cherry-picked compilation of the best of their back catalogue (and a previously unreleased cover of The Television Personalities Jackanory Stories) shows just why Dot Dash remain the ‘Daddy of them all’.
