Thanks to everyone to logging in to our latest Beat The Delete #0137 of weekly new music remommendations !!!

I know why you are here...you are looking for a new favourite aren't you?...lets hope the acts below deliver !

Swiss Portrait

Track:  Today From: Today (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
I never really know how to categorize this Michael Kay Terence project. Dream-pop, jangle-gaze, indie-pop/rock? Either way…It just kind of cavorts with the jangly, melodic spirit between all of them. This Edinburgh based act is one of the finds of the last 18 months !

Deathsport

Track:  Restless Leg Syndrome From: Case Study Songs (EP) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Mythical Motors post-punk darkness, punctuated with the frequent usage of The Chameleons style jangly riffs and a slight 2020’s jangle gaze modernity. This pair of German brothers seem determined / destined to make post-punk relevant again.

Gushh

Track:  My Little Friend From: Mr Manager (EP) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Gushh is the solo project of Bristol based Richard Stockley and has already become something of a favourite at Janglepophub towers. This is the opening track from his second, Come, Have a Look at the Stars EP, which underlines hIs stunning ambient jangle / meets surf style.

The Blue Herons

Track:  Take Them Back From: Take Them Back (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Probably the most (beautifully) commercial dream/indie pop sound that this duo of Andy Jossi and Gretchen DeVault have released under this project, with reference points being The Bangles and the subtleties of The Sundays.
Rapidly becoming one of the most consistently gorgeous acts around.

Cachalotes

Track: Seis, Tres, Dos From: Trabajos ocasionales (Album) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Cachalotes achieve the almost impossible mix of The Yellow Melodies twee and National Honor Society / The Very Most jangly indie-pop. Another Spanish act (Madrid) that will inevitably help to cement Spain as the world’s ‘twee-pop central’.

CF7

Track: Mäkelänkatu From: Mäkelänkatu (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Second single from this Helsinki, Finland, based act, who float the must sumptuous, tight jangled riffs, through dreamy, subtle gaze laden textures. The band are working on a debut EP which will undoubtedly justify every follow button pressed!

Peppermint Moon

Track:  My Little Friend From: Mr Manager (EP) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Strange, beguiling mix of Parker Longbough style, lo-fi, fuzz-laden production and gregarious The Beatles style melodies, from this solo project of El Radio Fantastique man, Colin Schlitt.

Eades

Track:  Ever Changing From: Delusion Spree (Single) Label:  Heist or Hit Records Out: Album out 22.03.22
Incisively equidistant between the slaicked stringed guitars of Pavement and the ramshackle jangle rock of the Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever / Kiwi Jr aesthetic, whilst always retaining a slight post-punk tinge, this Leeds based foursome add huge amounts of energy to the UK jangle-pop scene.

Good Dog Nigel

Track:  My Whole Life From: My Whole Dog Life (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
The Bandcamp bio of this solo project of Parker Emeigh, states “Good Dog Nigel is a Rock & Roll band with touches of busted pop and sparkling elements of twee, twang, and boogie”…I cannot beat that, so I will not try !

Colatura

Track:  We Run on Empty From: We Run on Empty (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
New York trio, Colatura, can always be relied upon to provide the most beautiful Cocteau Twins-esque swirling dream-pop. However, in the interests of modernity they also add the slightest hint of fuzzy gaze and the best that modern day dream-pops, more jangly riffs, have to offer.

Mike Coffen

Track:  I Can Find You Anywhere From: I Can Find You Anywhere (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
Montreal based, Mike Coffen, offers the darkness of late 80s post-punk sound and infuses it with the modernity of the 2020’s lo-fi production and tiny, incidental, jangled riffs, that flutter through the darkness. Absolutely compelling…

The Minders

Track:  These Days From: Psycehdelic Blacktop (single) Label:  Space Cassette Records Out: Now
Portland based act that fuses 70s power-pop with the better end of the jangly psyche-pop spectrum and the most subtle of Elephant 6 style fuzz. Altogether it provides a modern feel from the most familiar sounds of melodic yesteryear.

Astronomy Club

Track:  Just Fine From: Just Fine (single) Label:  Thunder Sound Out: Now
Taking the surfy psyche rock of The Black Magick Marching Band and running a ramshackle jangle-rock essence directly through its core, this Kentucky based quintet, flirt brilliantly between surf  and The Cult style mid 80’s alt rock.

Happypills

Track:  Diamond From: Diamond (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
This Japanese solo project of Yuuki Konn, is on something of a frenetic run of prolific song writing, with this, his third single of fuzzy jangle-gaze, released in as many weeks. One of the best jangle-gaze acts around over the last couple and severely underrated.

Yot Club

Track:  Hole From: Hole (single) Label:  Self released Out: Now
This 2nd single from the forthcoming Santolina EP, sees yet another ear-worm of the same ambient, jangly textures that made YKWIM go viral. For obvious reasons this Ryan Kaiser has caught the attention of the ‘Spotify Generation’.
