Album Review – Youth Club Is Over by No Museums (2020) (self released)

.
In his various Twin Library, Public Library and No Museums incarnations, Edmonton’s Michael Betmanis has been firmly on the radars of the better micro-blogs for well over a decade now.
As he should. For in Youth Club Is Over he continues to make the musical hinterland between the subdued melodic intent of  recent era Business of Dreams and Wedding Present style buzz guitars, whilst still dipping regular toes into the genuine indie pop intropsection of a Glenn Donaldson’s, The Reds, Pinks and Purples style aesthetic.
Betmanis, like Donaldson, is one of the few artists who are regularly forgiven for their overt sense of prolific, primarily due to the general brilliance and sense of nuance shift contained in each release and in Youth Club Is Over, he has once again exceeded lofty expectations.
